THE SILK FACTORY

Great to see how silk is made. The silkworms gorge on Mulberry leaves then wrap themselves in their silk cocoon. The cocoon is plunged in boiling water to kill the worm quickly before it tries to claw it's way out of the cocoon, breaking the continuous thread of silk. See this youtube video for more info.

UMBRELLA VILLAGE

This village famous for the handmade paper parasol umbrellas were celebrating with their annual festival whilst we were there. Great to see how they were made and such a colorful display. For more details see the website below.
