For the last month or so, it has been impossible not to notice the Mooncake madness here in Singapore!
The Mid Autumn Festival, which typically falls on the 15th day of the 8th Lunar month, is the 3rd major festival of the Chinese Calendar, (following after Chinese New Year and the Spring Festival). Also known as the Moon Festival, because at this time of year the moon is at it's highest and brightest, it will be celebrated this year on the 19th September. The build up to this Festival, has been a flurry of Mooncakes for sale everywhere.

Unless you have been living under a rock here in Singapore for the last few months, you will have noticed that the Formula 1 Grand Prix is about to hit Town this coming weekend.
You are either in love with it; and have got tickets to brave the madness - or you will be avoiding the area like the plague, settling instead for the "in front of the TV option". ![]()
My Hotel room curtains opened, and there it was, dawn in Cape Town. Finally I was on the great Continent of Africa. A Continent, that has eluded me in my travels thus far.
I was only in Cape Town for a few days, whilst attending a Conference with my hubby, but in that short time I saw quite a bit of this amazing "Town". Fasten your seat belts, make a cup of tea or coffee and grab the biscuits. This post is fairly long!! ![]()
I just had to post about the fantastic lunch I had today, here in Singapore. My friend and I went to NamNam, a Vietnamese Noodle Bar, tucked away, rather innocuously, right against the escalator at Wheelock Place.
I have been dying to try it having, walked past in numerous times. Usually, the line of people waiting to get into this place is pretty long and I am not a good waiter! Today however, we must have timed it right because the line was not too bad at all. |
