I loved every minute of our four day stay at this beautiful, historic Hotel in Hanoi. We feel so fortunate to have been able to experience this graceful Grande Dame, it was certainly a highlight of our time in Hanoi. Read my separate post on Hanoi here.
Built in 1901, The Grand Hotel Metropole Palace was the brainchild of André Ducamp and Gustave-Émile Dumoutier, capturing the epitome of French colonialism, as Vietnam was under French rule at that time.
On any of the trips I take, it is usual for me to look through Tripadvisor, as I like to check out not only accommodations, but possible things to do in the place I am visiting. It is also a great tool to get a general feel for the place in question.
From museums, to lakes, to a street food tour, (click here for the post), this was a thoroughly enjoyable trip, though the heat and humidity was palpable and certainly draining at times.
WHO IS LYNNY?
My name is Lynn, Lynny or even Lynnykansas. Blame the latter on a "Dorothy" Halloween Costume and a very funny kid a number of years ago (yes, that's you Meg!). I am a Brit who has spent many years in the USA, but is now experiencing life in Singapore for awhile.
More about me and why the blog is called It's Lynny Kansas.......
