BALI, JUNE 2013 - OUR PEARL ANNIVERSARY

The Honeymoon is over? Or is it?  After 30 years of marriage, hubby and I decided to celebrate our very special milestone this past June, with a 5 day trip to Bali.

Bali is a very common destination for folks living in Singapore because it is only a short 2 hour direct flight.  This 2,232 sq mile (5,780 km²) island is the smallest province in Indonesia but one of the over fourteen thousand islands of the Indonesian archipelago.

We pushed the boat out a bit as it was such a special occasion and stayed at The Samaya in Seminyak. Our Courtyard Villa with its own private plunge pool was just gorgeous.  As well as our own private pool we had access to a gorgeous pool and restaurant practically right outside our villa door.  A short buggy ride or walk took us to the main part of the resort which was beachside  The reception,  main restaurant and spa was located here, together with the beachside villas.

Time for breakfast
We chose to take our breakfast most days at the beachside restaurant called Breezes.  It was just so lovely to sit overlooking the ocean.

Right next to Breezes Restaurant are the lovely loungers overlooking the beach and the ocean.  As mentioned earlier this is where the main pool and spa are located as well as the Beach Villas.

We hired a car and driver through the Hotel one of the days so we could go to Ubud to see what it was like.  I really liked Ubud and if I returned to Bali in the future I would like to spend more time there.  The buildings were just magical.  There were also great markets full to the brim with local art.

We had a wonderful time in Bali and would definitely return.  Does a 31st wedding Anniversary qualify?!
