BLOG OF THE YEAR AWARD 2012

11/23/2012

It is truly amazing where writing this blog is taking me.  I just discovered, and have been invited to join,  a fantastic group called Blog of The Year Award. This is what they have to say.
Picture
"We wanted to create an award for you to enjoy.
There are so many brilliant blogs out there, written by dedicated and talented people, and we wanted to celebrate that. There are also a lot of ‘blog of the year’ awards out there that require a lot of effort – voting and promoting – and we wanted this to be simple!
So – it is simple! Choose the blog(s) that you have enjoyed reading this year – and present them with the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award"

When I started my Its Lynny Kansas blog just over a year ago, having moved to Singapore, I had no clue as to the outreach and scope associated with the word BLOG!  I also had no clue how to produce a blog -  but I jumped into the water, very much inspired by my friend Kate, who is a founding member and blogger at The Displaced Nation, who as they put it.
"Share a passion for what we call the displaced life."
So I decided whether it be in dis place or dat, I would give blogging a go!  I was not really sure (nor am I still) what I was doing, but thankfully Weebly make creating a blog reasonably easy and through trial and a lot of error, I started to figure things out.
Now, I am not the most prolific of bloggers out there.  It still takes me a lot of time to get my posts together, I am only managing roughly one a month and I am pretty sure they are way too long, but hey, it's my blog (she says, trying to sound super confident in herself and blase).  I keep telling myself I am doing OK, but as I have immersed myself more into the blogging World, and come across so many truly fantastic blogs, my confidence waivers a little.  When I look at my humble offering and compare it to the many, many brilliant blogs out there, I start to second guess myself.  Joining this group and being accepted with open arms has given my confidence a much needed boost.  Whether or not I get an award from anyone, I am truly enjoying myself, tweeting, posting, instagramming and pinning to my hearts content.  I am documenting my husband's and my time in Singapore and our adventures inbetween, for us if for no-one else.  Awww!  But it would still be awesome to get an award so I am living in hope.

It is always better to give than to recieve right?!  So, I am giving awards to the following blogs that I follow and enjoy.  No doubt there will be many more to add to this list as time goes on.

The Displaced Nation - Because they were my "first" and because I am completely hooked on Libby's Life!

The Thought Palette - Originators of the Blog of The Year Award but also a blog and site full of inspiration and ideas.

Legal Nomads - Jodi is such a fantastic travel and food blogger and her blog layout is awesome!

Tail of A Trailing Spouse - Diana is also a "trailing" spouse in Singapore and I love her writing and perspective.  We have never met, but I hope maybe one day in the future we will.

In Search Of A Life Less Ordinairy - I came upon Russell's blog via The Displaced Nation and just love it.

Singa-Bound - I love reading other peoples Singapore blogs, and Naomi's is interesting, and funny.

Knackered Mother's Wine Club - Who could not be drawn to a blog with a title like that lol!

Maps and Mojitos - Great travel blog with awesome photos and layout.

Expat Alien - An interesting blog and take on what it is like to be a Third Culture Kid/Global Nomad.

Mummigrants - Where Mum migrants of the World unite.  Great blog.

Crazy Train to Tinky Town - Hilarious!!

World Whisperer - Wow, what an interesting life.  Travel Agent, Fitness Instructor, Photographer and now Sled Dog Guide!!  Love reading your blog and the photos are fantastic.

The Palladian Traveller - Tom is funny and also very talented, his writing style is fantastic and he talks about food and wine quite a bit - my favorite things!
Read on for more information on The Blog of The Year Award and award rules.  You should give it a try.
Who can receive the award?

The award is for any blog that you think deserves it! If you have enjoyed reading a blog, gained great information from it, bookmarked it, shared it with friends, commented regularly or added them as a favourite – then why not give them the award?

You don’t have to wait to be nominated either – you can grab the banner and the guidelines and bestow the award on your favourite blogs – who knows, maybe they’ll nominate you in return! ‘rules’ for this award are simple:

1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award

2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.

3 Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award – http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/our-awards/blog-of-the-year-2012-award/ and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)

4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them

5 You can now also join our Facebook group – click ‘like’ on this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Facebook group and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience

6 As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…

Picture
Yes – that’s right – there are stars to collect!

Unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once – this award is different!

When you begin you will receive the ‘1 star’ award – and every time you are given the award by another blog – you can add another star!

There are a total of 6 stars to collect.

Which means that you can check out your favourite blogs – and even if they have already been given the award by someone else – you can still bestow it on them again and help them to reach the maximum 6 stars!
Picture
So, having bestowed my awards, it is time for Lynny to get back to tweeting, posting, instagramming and pinning - oh, sorry, I meant blogging!!  Let the stars fall where they may.

Yay for blogging! I love the community of people I've met through it and I love having my own outlet and online life away from my husband. :) Looking forward to reading more on your blog!

There are many bloggers and pages on the internet where critical and funny articles and topics are discussed among the users. I totally agree to your selection that this is one of the best and received the award for the best blogger. I like the content.
