FLUTES AT THE FORT

Just a quick post.  Graham and I went for a fantastic dinner this last Saturday night so I thought I would share.
Picture
We went to a restaurant called Flutes at The Fort.  Set in an old Black and White house built in 1908.  The house was originally built as the home of the Fire Marshall.

The setting was just gorgeous, up on a hill on the edge of Fort Canning Park, so peaceful yet so close to town.

The food and ambience were a delight, the service was incredible.

Graham started with Seared Scallops followed by Crisp Twice-Cooked Pork Hock. I led off with Salad of Smoked Duck Breast which was so fresh and wonderful, followed by the Pan Fried Chilean Seabass.  We ordered a side of Roast Potatoes which were just perfect.

We were not going to have dessert but the Pavlova was too hard to resist.  We ordered one to share and were surprised to be treated to a complimentary Vanilla Creme Brulee as well.  Check out the photos below of our fabulous food.

Well, I suppose that a "trailing wife" may indeed have many concerns and worries, but I think we all know now that malnutrition is certainly not among them! Whenever I see such lovely and delectable pictures of a grand meal such as yours at The Flutes, I know I could never be a food critic, as I'd never find the self-discipline to snap even a quick picture before I gobble everything down. So thanks for documenting and describing everything so beautifully -- and keep those posts coming! Len

The terrace dining looks like a place we visited in Australia (Silky Oaks Lodge). Lovely!

Just now seeing this post, Lynn, and somehow my tuna salad just isn't going to cut it for lunch now.

Thanks so much Yuri. I am learning as I go along, it is all very interesting both exploring new places and figuring out how to document it in our cyber World!
