THE SENTOSA CRANE DANCE

No, contrary to what the title might lead you to believe, this is not a post about dodging cranes and construction in Singapore!  Although "cranes" are in fact used.

The Crane Dance is an almost nightly attraction here at Resorts World Sentosa, where two mechanical cranes come to life.  A love story of sorts, where the cranes - amongst an amazing light and water show - court each other in a most inventive and magical way.

Having some friends visiting, it was the perfect opportunity to go and check out the show, especially as it is free.  Since moving to Sentosa Cove in June, it has been on my list of things to do, especially seeing as how it is fairly close and accessible now. I was not really sure what to expect, the show is not long, maybe 10 minutes, but I must say it really blew me away!  The audience sits on some concrete steps, waiting for the show to start, which it does promptly at 9pm (check the website for show days/times), Vivo City and The Harbourfront as the backdrop.  The music starts, the lights come up and the cranes begin to magically move to the music.  Each crane reveals a giant screen on which images flash, telling a wonderful story.  At the end we are treated to a small display of fireworks before the cranes sink once again into their resting position.

If you find yourself in Resorts World Sentosa, I encourage you to check it out.  I am so glad I did.

As an amateur writer, I infrequently come across really well written publications like your blog which really helps me inspirationally. It shows me what excellent publications are all about. There are lots of substandard writings on the web and it's very sad. Thank you for your well written posts! I frequently read your blog and enjoy the content you share. I look forward to more of your work.
