MY FIRST VISIT TO AUSTRALIA AND SYDNEY - MAY 2011
The air in Sydney was so refreshing after the heat and humidity of Singapore. It was Autumn time in Sydney, so the temps were round about 16F while I was there. They told me that this was in fact unusually chilly for May - July and August being the coldest "Winter" months.
I had a great time exploring the City taking in the sights, dominated of course by the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.
It has a great feel down by the harbour, lots of people coming and going with people sitting on benches eating their lunch in the sunshine listening to music from buskers. There was one guy who was particularly good, did some mean Bob Marley tunes.
I walked round The Rocks, one of the oldest parts of Sydney, originally inhabited by the convicts. Old narrow streets set into the rocks give it a lot of charm. Loads of lovely cafes and restaurants.
I also got to climb the Sydney Harbor Bridge, click here to see my blog post.
