DON'T LET THE RUBY SLIPPERS,

FOOL YOU., THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME,
BUT TRAVELING IS FUN.
After almost 8 years, the Singapore adventure is coming to a close. I started my blog soon after arriving in the Little Red Dot, back in March 2011. I thought it would be a great way to share photos and experiences with family and friends, also a way to document our trips. I was completely new to blogging, having never done anything like it before. It’s funny to look back at my early posts, and see how much I have learnt, and hopefully improved, but I still consider myself an amateur. I have learnt a lot though over the past 8 years, and not just about blogging. My time in Singapore has given me great insight into different cultures, and lifestyles, a definite melting pot here. Living in a small high rise apartment in the middle of Singapore’s Central business district has definitely been a far cry from my home with acreage just outside Leesburg, VA.
We have made the most of Singapore’s location to travel to other country’s throughout the region, so many spectacular trips and memories, all documented within my blog. I still cannot stress enough how Singapore should be on everybody’s travel bucket list.
And whilst it’s true that I won’t miss the constant heat and humidity here in Singapore, I will miss the amazing thunderstorms as well as the jaw dropping sunsets and sunrises that perfectly outline the amazing skyline. Most of all though, it is the people I will miss. So fortunate to have made many great friends both expat and local, through the AWA and through my husbands work. Whilst many people complain about Facebook, I am glad that I can stay connected with so many people who have been a major part of my Singapore experience.
Personally, I am ready to go back to my home In Leesburg. Unlike a lot of expats, our whole life was not moved totally lock, stock, and barrel to Singapore, so I made a lot of trips back and forth. Now it’s time to settle back in one place, time to work on my health and fitness, as well as my Mum and Grandma skills.
This blog has been a major eye opener for me. I never realized how much I could enjoy writing and sharing my experiences. So whilst the Singapore chapter is coming to a close, I hope to carry on blogging in some form or other, so watch this space
Thanks Singapore!! It’s been an epic adventure. I know I will be back for a visit at some point. The Little Red Dot has not yet seen the last of It’s Lynny Kansas.
