INSIDE LOUDOUN, AN EVENING AT DC PRIME STEAKS AND LOBSTERS

Lots of wonderful and exciting things happening at the moment.  I always love being back home here in the cute town of Leesburg, VA.  Currently I am on baby watch, soon to be a first time Grandma, I'm doing my best to remain calm in a sea of excitement!!

This is a wonderful part of Northern Virginia to be.  I've lived in Leesburg for the last 18 years.  Obviously the last 6 years have involved a lot of back and forth between here and Singapore, where my husband is currently working, but Leesburg is the place I consider home.
Leesburg is expanding all the time, with new restaurants and businesses coming to the town, as well as to Loudoun County.  We have great restaurants, tons of wineries and breweries in the area, plus music events, charitable events, parks and nature too!  So it goes without saying that there are lots of great Facebook groups to follow which keep me up to date on what's happening.
One such group I follow on Facebook, Inside Loudoun, is particularly fun.  They post great videos that showcase restaurants and other venues/happenings in our area,  They really do get the "inside"  scoop, often posting great videos with co-hosts J. C. Silvey and Elaine Espinola Keltz doing an awesome job in front of the camera, making me smile with their banter.  Frequently they will do gift card giveaways which is awesome! A chance to win a card to a restaurant or coffee shop is always fun.
Recently they ran a writing competition, the winner getting the chance to review one of Loudoun's best restaurants, DC Prime Steaks and Lobsters, plus a $100 gift card to the restaurant to be used at a future date.  The brief was to write a detailed description of how to make your best steak.  I decided to go for it, I entered, and unbelievably, I WON!!!!

Once I had recovered from the initial shock, I was really excited, but also a little nervous.  Last week, I met up with Jessie Peterson from Inside Loudoun, and together we had an incredible dining experience at DC Prime.  We had a menu picked personally for us by the Chef, Brad Weideman, where we sampled some superb dishes that left us in a total food coma!!  I then had to write my review of the evening which has now been published on the Inside Loudoun page and website.  It runs alongside some video they shot recently with J. C. Silvey, Elaine Espinola Keltz, together with special guest former Red Skin player Ken Harvey, showcasing even further just how awesome D C Prime is.  Read my review here.
It really was a real treat.  I can't wait to go back to the restaurant with my hubby.  Thank you so much Inside Loudoun and DC Prime.

A nice touch to see a personalized menu with my name on it.
